In 2020, as the world faced widespread lockdowns, Aranuf Deramus confined himself to his basement. During this period, he discovered his old piano which became a crucial outlet for his emotions.
Aranuf has autism, and for most of his life, he struggled to find a way to channel the torrent of emotions inside him. Then, one day, as his fingers slowly caressed the piano keys, something shifted. It wasn't gradual; it was instant—like the world coming into focus. The piano wasn't just an instrument; it was an extension of himself, a conduit through which he could finally express the things he couldn't say out loud. The music flowed effortlessly, the notes spoke for him, and the chaos within began to find its rhythm.
As he became one with the piano, Aranuf felt a profound transformation within himself, one that required a new identity to match this awakening. Thus, Xrfqz was born. Now, after months of playing, feeling, and becoming one with the music, he knew his music had to reach the world, that it was no longer just his, but something that needed to be heard by others. His first jazz EP, "Journey to the End," wasn't just a collection of songs—it was a map of his soul, a diary of his struggles and triumphs. It was about transformation, connection, and the raw, unfiltered beauty of finding one's own voice. This was just the beginning of his story—a journey that started in a basement but reached for the stars.
